Determined David Alberto Gives it His All for Charity

David Alberto, the ultra-fit managing director of serviced office operator Avanta, has raised a massive £9000 for charity after taking part in the Lake District’s grueling Lakeland 100 event.

The ultra-marathon follows a stunning, circular route in the Lake District that includes the Lakeland fells.

This year 240 runners entered the two day event during which time participants do not take stops or have time to sleep. The winners usually finish in around 23 hours.

Unfortunately David took a fall during the race and was unable to finish due to a leg injury. However he was clocked at the 75 mile mark in 15th overall place and, not put off by the this year’s disappointment, has already signed up to take part in the 2012 race.

David will continue to raise money for Sparks, the children’s charity which raises funds for medical research into conditions affecting children and babies.
